Così morì Lucrezia, e mostrò al Tebro
Nove strade al trionfo,
Ed ad onta de’Tarquinii e del orgoglio
Trionfò, ben che morta, in Campidoglio.

Thus died Lucrezia, and showed the Tiber
New heights of triumph,
