Beatus vir qui timet Dominum
in mandatis eius volet nimis.
Potens in terra erit semen eius
generatio rectorum benedicetur.
Gloria et devitiae in domo eius
et iustitia eius manet in saeculum saeculi
exortum est in tenebris lumen rectis
misericors et miseratur et iustus
Iucundus homo qui miseretur et commodat
disponet sermones suos in iudicio
quia in aeternum non commevebitur
in memoria aeterna erit iustus
ab auditione mala non timebit.
Paratum cor eius sperare in Domino
Confirmatum est cor eius
non commovebitur donec despiciat inimicos suos
Dispersit dedit pauperibus
iustitia eius manet in saeculum saeculi
cornu eius exaltabitur in gloria.
Peccator videbit et irascetur
dentibus suis fremet et tabescet
desiderium peccatorum peribit.
Gloria patri et filio et spiritui sancto
Sicut erat in principio et nunc et semper
Et in saecula saeculorum, Amen.
TRANSLATION
Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord
He hath great delight in his commandments.
His seed shall be mighty upon earth
The generation of the faithful shall be blessed.
Riches and wealth shall be in his house
And his righteousness endureth forever
There ariseth up true light in the darkness
He is merciful, loving and righteous.
A good man is merciful and lendeth
And will guide his words with discretion
For he shall never be moved
And shall be had in everlasting remembrance
He will not fear of any evil tidings
For his heart standeth fast and hopes in the Lord
His heart is established and will not shrink
until he see his desire upon his enemies
he has dispersed and given to the poor
and his righteousness remaineth forever
his horn shall be exalted in glory.
The sinner shall see it and grow angry
He shall gnash his teeth and consume away
The desire of the sinner shall perish.
Glory be to the father and to the son and to the holy spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end, Amen.
